Red This is one of those rare lofi releases where everything is undoubtedly perfect. Three epic incantations for battle hardened valor. Anyone who likes Dungeon Synth, fantasy, knights, castles, medieval battles etc. check this out. Favorite track: The Battle of the North Reach.

Dave Aftandilian I love the atmospheres the Musician conjures here: misty visions of past majesties and never-forgotten deeds of valor in the shadows of the Black Keep. There’s enough dark menace to keep things interesting, and enough Mystery to make me look up to the velvety night sky and try to read the omens written there.

Kevin Boyle One of my favorites of 2023 so far. Very evocative of a time of castles, swords and sorcery. Sword of a Fallen Star is a great example of fine DS craftsmanship with attention to detail. This is one to revisit again and again. Favorite track: Sword of a Fallen Star.

It is a time of warfare, of battles fierce and magicks terrifying. Kingdoms driven by the furor for power and greed argue and ally amongst themselves. Mercenary bands join the fray to heap coin and glory upon their names, and the lands are bathed in the hymns of bloodlust, battle, and lamentation.

It is a season of conflict, and of growing dread, and of legend. A fortress is rumored to sit in the shadows of the mountains to the north, and in this fortress the legends tell of an ancient weapon, the Sword of the Fallen Star, a mighty blade fashioned of mysterious metals and containing colossal powers. Guarding this magickal sword is the fearsome Black Sentinel, warden of the blade, and eternal caretaker of the fortress forgotten to time.

A lot of these synth based genres that have been popping up in Metal subculture has been unique to say the least, however not many of the projects seem to do their subgenres justice in creating a truly good sound that isn't just a cute gimmick. This is one of the few times, where I feel some songwriting chops exist. The atmosphere created evokes the soundtracks from gritty 80s Fantasy movies. 3.5/5 ClassyMusicSnob
